I Played Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed and I Know Crypto – PC World Is Worth Investing In

How does the iconic Destroy All Humans 2 remake perform in action? I’ve spent enough time playing the game to be able to answer this question.

I have spent the past few days in the company of a charming and charming alien named Crypto. It soon turned out that this gentleman and I share something more than just a love of “beheading”, beautiful ladies and inappropriate jokes.

It’s more than a remake

Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed is a remake of the 2006 cult classic, so people who have had the opportunity to play it will be able to relive the comedic story of Crypto and a handsome Earth agent. However, if you haven’t had a chance to try out the original Destroy All Humans 2, this remake will give you a taste of the wacky open-world action game where you play as an alien named Crypto. The main character wants at all costs to take revenge on humanity for destroying the “mothership” and its favorite weapons. However, it quickly turns out that the protagonist, when he says “people”, means the KGB agents and… the hippies.

Although Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed is extremely faithful to the original version, the developers have not been afraid to make many changes and improvements. The graphic design definitely stands out here. There is no ordinary “resolution boost”. The result is a production that is in no way different from the competing titles of this year. The character models, animations, and lighting effects all make a very good impression. He also looks awesome destruction system, which fits perfectly with the main core of the game – consisting of the creative extermination of the human species. Sure, you can stick with repetitive NPC patterns, but during standard play, you don’t pay much attention to them. Simply put, Studio Black Forest Games shows how to make remakes.

It’s time to have fun

Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed offers us an expansive campaign that can be played solo or in co-op mode. The main scenario consists of a series of missions in which our final task will usually be to kill someone or blow something up. That doesn’t mean Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed’s gameplay is boring or repetitive, though. On the contrary. A wide arsenal of Crypto weapons and abilities will make the most creative gamers have a great time playing the game. After a dozen hours with the game, I already know that the weapon that evokes the uncontrollable desire to dance in people is one of the baddest.

Crypto can also have some interesting capabilities. One of them allows him to take over the body of any human and thus access new information or places. Interestingly, some dialogues change depending on whether we are controlling a woman or a man. Our protagonist can also read minds to get new information. More often than not, however, it ends in pointless but amusing “statements” from NPCs. Finally, Crypto also has the telekinesis ability, which I used almost all the time because it allows for the craziest maneuvers. There’s nothing more satisfying than intercepting a thrown grenade and “handing it back” to KGB agents.

Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed also features a vast open world. During the game we will visit several equally extensive maps on which we can move on foot or with a jet-pack. This invention will be useful not only when exploring, but also in battle. Of course, while playing we will also unlock the possibility of using our trusted spaceship, but personally I did not like the control of it. I had a lot more fun traveling the game world with the jet-pack.

Crypto is a hero like few

While Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed looks respectable and the gameplay itself is addictive and satisfying, Crypto made the biggest impression on me. Maybe something is wrong with me, but the murderous alien is a character I felt an exceptionally close connection to. Crypto is like a hero from another era, disregarding convention and political correctness. In his life, he is guided by very simple and clear rules. I bet if he was a penguin, his name would probably be Rico. With all of this, Crypto is a real talker. It is especially the dialogues (and monologues) with the main character that make me smile regularly. This is largely due not only to the brilliantly written script, but also John Grant Albrecht – an actor who once again lends his voice to Crypto. Above all, the rest of the cast does not differ much from the level of Albrecht, thanks to which Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed is a wonderfully acted story.

Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed – when is the premiere?

Finally, I can share another piece of information with you. Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed will debut August 30 this year on PC, Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5. The production of the Black Forest Games studio will bypass the PS4 and Xbox One. The creators explain their decision by the scale of the project and the requirements of the game, which would mean that the old generation version would have to be heavily “castrated”.

Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed – Verdict

Dozens of hours with Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed meant I already knew what I was up to on August 30. It would seem that the Black Forest Games studio has prepared a perfect remake. The audio-visual framework created from scratch (based on Unreal Engine 4), improvements in the gameplay itself, as well as an excellent funny story and a successful hero make both veterans of the series and people who have never had contact with Destroy All Humans for a new release. I will wait for the final evaluation of the production until its debut, but I doubt that anything will put me off the adventure with Crypto.
