Disney Plus – supported devices. What can you watch?

Disney+ is fast approaching Poland. On which devices will we watch the successes of Marvel and Star Wars, as well as other productions? In what quality will you be able to watch them on smart TV? What platforms are supported?

What devices is Disney+ on?

Disney+ can be downloaded on many different devices and when the service launches in Poland, they should all be available on day one. Among them there are mobile platforms, as well as game consoles and televisions. In the case of smart TV, we are also talking about more universal platforms, such as Android TV, which is also present on set-top boxes and other devices.

Computers:

  • Windows – Disney+ app (Windows 10/11) or in the browser (Edge, Chrome,

Mobile devices:

  • Android – smartphones and tablets, minimum version 5.0 Lollipop required
  • Apple – iPhones and iPod touch, iOS 12.0 minimum required

On how many devices can I watch Disney+?

Disney+ does not limit the number of devices on which you install the app and sign in to your account. The limitation is the maximum number of 7 profiles that can be created. The limit also includes 4 screens where you can watch Disney+ at the same time under one account.

Where can I download the Disney+ app?

The application for Windows 10/11 is available in the Microsoft Store, for iOS it is available in the App Store, and for Android we will download it from Google Play. All three apps offer an offline mode, so you can download content to play without internet access. Console apps are available in individual stores on PlayStation and Xbox consoles. To download the app to your smart TV, visit the app store directly on the TV.

The apps will be ready for download in Poland on the day the service launches on June 14, 2022.

How good are the movies on Disney+?

Disney+ has no shortage of 4K content with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support, but if your device doesn’t support them, you can also watch these titles in traditional HDR, lower resolution, and Dolby Digital surround sound. Much of the production is offered in 1080p and with 5.1 surround sound. Older productions that weren’t created in HD or remastered have found their way to Disney+ in SD.

Changing the series’ aspect ratio on Disney+

Disney+ as the only answered the call from fans and added the ability to choose between 4/3 and 16/9 side aspect ratios. This only applies to the first seasons of “The Simpsons” series, which was prepared in the new HD format, resulting in To cut the image up and down. In an additional tab on the “The Simpsons” series subpage, we can switch between the classic version of SD 4/3 and HD 16/9. Unfortunately, there is no such option in other productions.

What is IMAX Enhanced?

Released on Disney+ in February, select Marvel movies in IMAX Enhanced format feature a 1.90:1 side aspect ratio (in some scenes), thanks to which roughly 26% more of the image is seen that was reserved for cinema screenings. If we prefer to see these films in standard format, it’s Disney +
