At the beginning of June, a website and a mobile application were launched, which allow you to browse the tourist attractions of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship on interactive maps.
The Świętokrzyskie Tourist Routes Platform was prepared by the Polish Tourism and Tourism Society at the request of the Office of the Marshal of Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. His solemn premiere took place on June 3 at a press conference.
According to the creators of the platform, the platform should not be just a guide, but a complete and useful tool for tourists. It lets you hike the trails and plan your own trips using a comprehensive map module, then download the route tracks. The system will show us the exact route, elevation profile and weather forecast in the area. The platform also contains a database of tourist attractions with descriptions and photos.
As Marshal Andrzej Bętkowski points out, the launch of the platform is a response to changes in tourist habits, triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic. – In cooperation with PTTK, we managed to create a multimedia platform consisting of an application and a portal, which I hope will be used by many tourists. As Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, we try to keep up with new technological trends in the promotion of tourism, which is reflected in the presented system – says Andrzej Bętkowski. – Numerous studies confirm that tourists are increasingly taking advantage of the possibility of resting outside the crowded tourist centers, using a network of marked tourist routes, mainly on foot, by bicycle and by canoe. The Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship has a lot to offer in this regard, which is confirmed, for example, by the growing number of tourists visiting the Świętokrzyski National Park. I hope that the website and the application will be warmly received by tourists and will help them to travel through the beautiful corners of Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship – adds Marshal.
– The website www.swietokrzyskie.szlaki.pttk.pl and the associated mobile application are the first solution of its kind entirely dedicated to the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. Foreign tourists will also be able to use the platform, since the English version of the portal and application has been prepared – underlines Tomasz Jamka, member of the board of directors of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.
According to Piotr Kisiel, Director of the Department of Education, Sports, Tourism and Foreign Affairs of the Marshal’s Office, the platform currently offers 50 Świętokrzyskie hiking trails with a total length of 1,496 kilometers and 22 cycling routes. 943 kilometers long.
The mobile app is free, you can download it to your phone from Google Play and App Store.
The platform is administered by employees of the Tourism Department of the Marshal’s Office, who are in charge of updating the data, including entering information on new routes and tourist attractions. The platform contractor, i.e. PTTK, provides website hosting, in-store application maintenance, and full technical support.
The portal and app will be further developed. This year, the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship will have an inventory of all marked tourist cycle paths in the region. After proper processing, the materials will be placed on the portal and in the application.
