How do I make calls from Teams to mobiles and landlines?

There are several ways to configure Microsoft Teams to make calls to mobiles and landlines. In today’s guide, we show you how to take advantage of this feature and create an account to start making calls.

How to test the ability to make calls from Teams to phones

There are several ways to set up calls from Microsoft Teams to mobiles and landlines:

  1. via the local PSTN standard.
  2. connect operator – using the infrastructure of one of the telephone service providers participating in the Microsoft Operator Connect program.
  3. using the infrastructure of Microsoft.

The easiest way to configure the ability to make calls from Teams to landlines and mobiles is to use the Microsoft infrastructure.

To make calls from Teams, you need:

  1. Phone System subscription – we will use the trial subscription for testing Office 365 E5.
  2. subscription to calling plans.
  3. account with global administrator privileges or with the ability to receive mail (for example, an Exchange Online mailbox).
  4. company documents confirming REGON or NIP, or KRS or CEIDG.

Step by step configuration:

  1. Licenses:

    10. We click “Start Free Trial”:

      And we follow the same procedure as for the Office 365 E5 Trial subscription.

    12. We assign subscriptions to users who will test the functionality of the Phone System.
  2. We get the phone numbers:
    1. From the level of Microsoft Teams admin centerVoice callsPhone numbers we click “To add”:

    3. We provide:
      1. The name of the command.
      2. Description of the contract.
      3. The location.
      4. Type of number – Subscribed user.

      Then click on the link “Select this link” to complete the data on the organization:

    4. We provide:
      1. Company Name.
      2. Tax Identification Number.

      Company details must be true even in test case. Data will be verified by Microsoft Support.

    5. We provide:
      1. Operator – Microsoft.
      2. Number of numbers – do not overdo it; ideally this should be the actual number of numbers needed for testing.

      And we click “Add location”:

    6. We provide:
      1. The name of the location.
      2. Data allowing the location of our organization.

    7. Next:
      1. We provide the tax identification number – it will be verified.
      2. We confirm that we have read the information clause.
      3. We click “To safeguard”.

    8. Select the previously added location and click “Next”:

    10. The order has been generated. We click “Finish”:
